10 years on the road

I could also say 'Happy Birthday' to my Audi but that would sound a bit weird.
On the 29. April 1998 my car was registered for the first time. Don't know when it left the factory, so the real 'date of birth' will be some days before.
After 10 years of duty it runs fine as new.

Audi A4 - 150.000 km

Yesterday, at about 7.15 p.m., my car reached 150.000 km. About 19.000 km with me.

I am very glad I bought it. It's as reliable as expected.

Sometimes I still think about my old Audi 80 - it was a great time too, and I hope it's still doing fine.

Audi back from repair

Got my car back from the garage yesterday. It took quite some time due to delivery problems of the new hood but now everything is fine. The boys from 'Auto Reckendorfer' did a good job.

It's just great to have a good looking car again. It was a really poor picture with the bent hood and the broken headlight. But the dent on the co-driver's door even pissed me off a lot more. I hate it when people are too stupid for parking or driving and hit your car and drive off without even leaving a message!

Today I also put in a new airfilter and exchanged the air-flow sensor because it felt like the car didn't have the full power it should have and I read on MOTOR-TALK.de that this could be because of a defective sensor. I guess they were right.
Before the exchange of the sensor it seemed like it was just working fine up to 160 km/h and then it was a bit tough to reach 180 km/h.
On a short test drive on the highway, with the new sensor, the car accelerated constantly until I quit at 190 km/h (about 118 miles per hour) - and that was in the uphill direction. :-)

Audi A4 - control arms exchanged

On Saturday I had the control arms and tie rod ends on my Audi A4 exchanged. The old ones were already hearable defective - especially on the right side.
As adviced by members of MOTOR-TALK.de I bought the parts from Meyle instead of genuine spares because the Meyle parts are reinforced and will last longer.
Only thing left to do is to have the toe adjusted.

It's a hell of a difference in driving with the new parts.

Next thing will be the repair of the damage on the front - exchange of the hood (including paint) and the driver's side headlight - and the dent on the co-driver's side.
